Support/Troubleshooting/Incompatible software

This page lists software that is known to cause issues with Out of Ore in some cases.

Having one of the programs listed below does not mean the game will always fail to run. However, if you are experiencing startup issues or crashes, temporarily disabling or uninstalling the software listed here may help identify the cause.

Antivirus and security software

Some third-party antivirus and security programs may block the game from starting or may remove required files without showing a warning.

Known examples include:

Comodo Antivirus
AVG
Avast
Bitdefender

These issues often appear as:

The game briefly appears in Task Manager and then closes
Clicking Launch in Steam does nothing
Missing or quarantined game files

If possible, adding the game folder as an exception or using Windows Defender instead may resolve the issue.

Overlays and performance tools

Software that injects overlays or modifies rendering behavior can sometimes interfere with the game.

Examples include:

Performance overlays
FPS counters
Frame limiters
GPU tuning utilities

If you experience crashes or graphical issues, try disabling overlays before launching the game.

Peripheral and driver software

Some hardware-related software may interfere with the game, particularly if it injects drivers or background services.

Examples include:

Steering wheel software
Force feedback drivers
Input remapping tools

In rare cases, crashes may be triggered by updated or conflicting driver components.

System cleanup and monitoring tools

Aggressive cleanup or monitoring software may remove or block files used by the game.

Examples include:

Automated system cleaners
Registry cleaners
Background monitoring tools

These tools are generally not required for normal system operation and may cause unexpected issues.
